Comics Studio: Storytelling

Children have a chance to meet favourite superheroes and even to create new universes in this comics and digital storytelling course. Imagination is a superpower in Comics Studio!

How it works

From idea to publishing houses- this course will uncover comic industry and give hints on how to build a new MARVEL! Students will explore and master visual, oral, and textual storytelling skills.

Course Features

This course teach to turn your creative idea into a tangible product - an actual webcomic book. Exploring the knowledge on sketching, storyboarding, coloring, lettering we will have a chance to not only meet favorite superheroes but also to create some!

Practical Tools

Students learn a variety of professional tools, apps, and software used by comic industry titans including ComicLife, Storyboard That, JustSketchMe app, and GIMP.

Immersive Projects

Each class engages students to deeply understand principles of scriptwriting and each assignment trains the realization skills. By the end of the course, each student has advanced knowledge and practice on how to make idea come true.

Soft Skills

Small class sizes enable close collaboration with peers and help students improve their teamwork, confidence, public speaking, and feedback.

Future Profession

From critical thinking to visualizing and executing, Comics Studio empowers kids with versatile tools sought at top companies. In this course we will learn how to run creative process, pitch product to investors and then sell it to general public.

What Students Will Learn

Explore
Students learn about essential parts of comic's artistic and creative parts — arts, history, storytelling, scriptwriting, running creative process and leading it towards efficient product.
Practice
Storyboarding, script and synopsizes writing, building and depicting heroes exercises engage your child’s critical thinking, associative mind, and imagination.
Apply
Practice right after theory — students will apply new knowledge and every class contributed to development of their artistic project.
Present
Here we will learn how to create memorable pitch, be the best at presenting and public speaking and ethically provide group feedback.
